Funnily enough, I think I met one of your colleagues from NK News at a conference/summit last year, someone with a PhD; and he was also thinking about going into something else like political risk, possibly. Hope all's going well with the business.

That's pretty cool, the field of North Korean studies is very small so it's not unlikely. I plan on doing a two-part column, one about why I left academia and the other about how studying Korean Peninsula issues is probably inadvisable for most. Stay tuned.
